In commemoration of World Environmental Day, on June 5 2026, CATA-Earth UI collaborating with YKB (Yayasan Kusuma Buana) and SMPN 7 Jakarta (Junior High School) to hold an interactive program for students of SMPN 7 Jakarta to learn about environmental issues, climate change, and the connection of those to adolescent mental & reproductive health.
Under the theme “My Waste, My Responsibility,” the students were encouraged to take responsibility for their waste, care for the environment, and build healthy habits for a more sustainable future.
The event featured an interactive educational session on waste management, delivered by drg. Nadia Greviana, MPd.Ked and dr. Dewi Yunia, Sp.Ok, PhD from Universitas Indonesia, followed by engaging activities including the 3R Challenge Movement Game (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), a Waste Sorting Relay, and an Earth Day & World Environment Day Quiz. These activities provided students with practical and enjoyable ways to learn about environmental responsibility.
The program also included a Joint Commitment Ceremony and the inauguration of Resilient Youth Ambassadors, encouraging students to become active advocates for environmental awareness within their schools and communities.
Through this collaboration, CATA-EARTH UI and its community partner (Yayasan Kusuma Buana) aim to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond to climate and environmental challenges while supporting their mental and reproductive well-being. By nurturing resilient youth today, we can build healthier communities and a more sustainable future.
