Work Package Summaries
WP1 – Community-Driven Transformational Planetary Health Education Framework & Toolkit
WP1 developed the CATA-Earth Planetary Health Education Framework and Toolkit by reviewing existing approaches and creating guidance for context-specific, community-engaged Planetary Health education. It includes curriculum guidance, learning objectives, a roadmap for educational delivery, and a competency framework linking Planetary Health education with future employment. The framework and toolkit have been completed and provide the foundation for the project’s subsequent educational activities.
WP2 – Community-Driven Planetary Health Course Development, Implementation & Evaluation
WP2 translates the CATA-Earth framework into context-specific Planetary Health courses, co-created with students, higher education institutions, communities, and other stakeholders. It incorporates local priorities and knowledge into course design, accreditation and delivery, alongside a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to broaden access. Course implementation is accompanied by evaluation and feedback to strengthen future delivery and sustainability.
WP3 – Train the Trainers
WP3 builds the capacity of academic educators and community champions to use the CATA-Earth Toolkit and deliver Planetary Health education. Through core competency training, site-specific materials and Train-the-Trainer sessions, the WP aims to create a multiplier effect and expand the pool of qualified Planetary Health educators. It also supports the development of a wider Planetary Health Community of Practice across Asia.
WP4 – Knowledge Repository Creation & Management
WP4 brings together CATA-Earth resources, outputs, evaluations and stakeholder reflections within an accessible Knowledge Repository to support continued learning and project sustainability. It also establishes a data management approach for maintaining and organising these knowledge assets. The repository platform has progressed from a test version to a final signed-off platform, with continued collation of outputs from across the project.
WP5 – Project & Quality Management
WP5 ensures the effective, timely and high-quality implementation of CATA-Earth through project coordination, monitoring, administration and reporting. It oversees quality assurance, impact assessment, inclusion and ethics while supporting delivery of project outputs within agreed timelines and resources. Sustainability planning is also integrated to help extend the value and impact of CATA-Earth beyond the project period.
WP6 – Communication & Dissemination
WP6 promotes the CATA-Earth Planetary Health education model and supports its wider uptake in higher education in Asia, Europe and beyond. Through the project website, social media, publications, events and communication resources, it shares project knowledge, experiences and outputs with academic, community and wider stakeholder audiences. The WP also evaluates communication and dissemination activities to strengthen the reach and visibility of project results.
